Dear friends,

A look back at our remarkable progress this year renews my strength for the work that lies ahead. In 42 programs across 26 countries, MCSP is working to support USAID’s priority goal of ending preventable child and maternal deaths in a generation. We’re “reaching the unreachable” with modern family planning methods, uterotonics and successful resuscitation immediately after birth, and lifesaving vaccinations.

Our work remains evidence-based and results driven. We have adapted to new and emerging health needs – related to urban health, Ebola, Zika, and early childhood development. Our country work focuses on strengthening the ability of host country counterparts to deliver critical interventions at scale.

To share our work, we co/hosted 26 events at home and abroad this year, including the Global Maternal Newborn Health Conference and Madagascar Family Planning Conference, published nearly 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and maintained a dynamic website that includes 140+ resources. We were also thrilled to see our work promoted 150+ times in outlets as diverse as The Huffington Post, Cosmopolitan magazine, and Voice of America, in addition to local media in-country.

As we near the end of the calendar year, we resolve to dedicate greater effort to improving health and saving lives. Bringing care to the community level. Engaging men. Strengthening health systems. Scaling up lifesaving, innovative products and approaches.

Thank you supporting us on this journey and adding your voice to the global conversation, ensuring attention remains focused on preventing needless deaths! Join us on Facebook and Twitter as, together, we continue to explore how best to deliver for the world’s women and children.

Wishing a healthy New Year to all!
