USAID and MCSP
MONTHLY SPOTLIGHT

Dear friends,

Every day, in areas with tremendous challenges for maternal, newborn and child health, MCSP is translating knowledge into action to help families survive and thrive. In addition to supporting the Ministry of Health, we’re connecting those most in need with the services that save and improve lives through religious leaders, community health workers, and more competent providers.

Ensuring lifesaving services make it to every doorstep requires more than building the capacity of health workers and local leaders, however. It necessitates “reaching the unreached.” MCSP achieves this by removing barriers to access and scaling up high-impact interventions to less-served populations – while helping countries meet their national health goals in the process.

On May 16th, we invite you to add your voice to this critical conversation. Join us at the Wilson Center for a robust discussion – with Ministry of Health staff from several African countries, global development leaders, and academics – of what’s needed to achieve widespread and sustainable impact at the national level. A few days earlier, on May 9th, we’ll also host a related Twitter chat at 9:00am ET using hashtag #scaleforsuccess.

I look forward to putting our heads together to achieve our common aim: finding the fastest way to a better life for the world’s women and children!
