Addressing Malnutrition to Improve Maternal, Newborn & Child Health Outcomes

Malnutrition is one of the most neglected health problems globally. In developing countries, it is an underlying cause in 20% of maternal and 45% of under-five deaths in children. During the first 1,000 days – from pregnancy to two years of age – most of the damage from malnutrition occurs.
