April 7: Community Health in the SDG Era

Posted April 6, 2017

MCSP will host this satellite session of the 8th annual conference of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) to advance the understanding of the opportunities and challenges — financial, human resources, programmatic, social-political — for institutionalizing viable and resilient  platforms for  community health investments.

The session will set the stage for advancing community health policies and programs within the context of primary care systems as a foundation for driving community engagement in the new UN Global Strategy for Women’s Children’s and Adolescents’ Health. Speakers will characterize the roles of communities as resources in systems to achieve the SDG goals in health and highlight how some countries are working towards sustaining and scaling up partnerships with communities.
