The Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) Acceleration Partnership Community of Practice is hosting a webinar: “The importance of follow-up for KMC and preterm babies.” The webinar will make the case for the importance of follow-up for KMC and preterm babies to go beyond survival and optimize quality of life. This includes what kind of screening and clinical and social services are offered and recommended and at what intervals.
The webinar will feature MCSP’s Newborn Health Advisor Dr. Goldy Mazia, who will present on “aspirational” models and suggestions for what realistically can be done in limited-resource settings. She will also share ideas for improving compliance with follow-up, such as the use of mobile technology and innovations like decentralizing basic services in combination with referrals for periodic specialized care.
